This wild ride began when Peter Lurye, the composer of the brilliant theme song from the original Magic School Bus series from the 90s, brought me in to work on an updated, modernized version of the same composition for the reboot. I brought my contemporary production and arrangement skills to bear and together we created an upbeat new theme song that features none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda singing (fun fact: the original theme song was sung by Little Richard!). The show won a Parent’s Choice Silver Honor and a Common Sense “Great For Families” seal.
